VPS Current & Future Strategy
With TEI Innovations primarily focusing on law enforcement, the Company, and their VPS division, have tried hard to stay on the cutting-edge of “new policing” technologies, always looking for new technology applications and related business opportunities!
For the first 12 of those 15 years, TEI Innovations had been aware that only about 100 of the largest law enforcement agencies in the country (out of 21,000) were able to justify installing Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) technology to enhance their 911/Dispatch operations. That situation directly resulted from the extremely expensive upfront and ongoing costs required to deploy and maintain those onsite RTCC hardware/software technology platforms.
However, about 3 years ago, a “cloud based” RTCC software technology emerged that was immediately affordable for any size law enforcement agency. TEI Innovations believes virtually all police departments and sheriff’s offices across the country will adopt this new RTCC technology in the next few years, because of the major new capabilities it will bring to their 911/Dispatch Centers…...such as described in the following example:
When a 911 Dispatcher receives a 911 call from an apartment property where VPS 6.0 RTCC-powered outdoor wireless cameras are deployed property-wide, the dispatcher first launches a patrol car in response, while simultaneously accessing and beginning their analysis of all the property’s “live video camera” streams. Also, they will remotely playback previously recorded video, to possibly view how the later reported incident unfolded. The dispatcher then reports their assessment, sending along any pertinent video clips or screenshots, to their in-route officer(s), giving them better “situational-awareness’ before they arrive on the property.
There are three (3) companies currently operating in this RTCC technology space. Over the last three (3) years, TEI’s VPS division offered to work with each of these individual companies, and their programming teams, on a development & integration project. Each accepted, and VPS engineers provided technical support (e.g. SDK’s, etc.) to enable each company’s programming team to integrate with our proprietary VPS 6.0 outdoor wireless IP camera network technology.
What VPS received from these projects was a “market advantage” that enabled VPS and their authorized Sales Partners to immediately offer VPS RTCC-Certified outdoor wireless cameras for sale to their customers, no matter which of the three (3) RTCC technology providers their local law enforcement agency has chosen for their 911/Dispatch Center, or will choose in the future.
With all three (3) RTCC technology VPS 6.0 integration projects successfully completed, in coordination with our law enforcement agency partners, on January 1, 2023 VPS announced all future VPS RTCC-powered outdoor wireless camera sales will focus on deployments of their unique-combination of VPS 6.0 property-wide outdoor wireless camera technology and each local law enforcement agency’s RTCC technology, to Apartment Owners & Property Management Companies on a nationwide basis.
Many multiple property owners & property management companies have dozens, if not hundreds, of properties under management across the county…...often in very diverse geographic areas. For them, VPS can legitimately offer to become their single-source supplier for the deployment of these “new policing” crime-reduction technologies to any, or all, of their properties, regardless of their locations.
